The Feminist Law Forum at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law is open to all.  We encourage discussions of feminist perspectives on law and legal issues.

Each semester we host at least one forum with an invited guest speaker and also meet informally to discuss ongoing issues from classes.  For example, students in a torts class who are discussing the "reasonable man" standard, Restatement (Second) of Torts §283, might want to have a chance to talk with others about the implications of that standard.  The Feminist Law Forum also hosts roundtables, where a professor suggests a law review article to read and then leads a discussion about it.

   Examples of past events include:

  • Talk on date rape and the Kobe Bryant trial by Visiting Professor Michelle Anderson.

  • Roundtable hosted by Professor Infanti, "Taxing Housework," based on the article by Nancy C. Staudt, Taxing Housework, 84 Geo. L.J. 1571 (1996).

  • Are Reproductive Rights in Danger?  Recent Developments in U.S. Law, with Sue Frietsche of the Women's Law Project.
