JURIST is the authoritative legal news and real-time legal research website powered by a team of over 20 law student reporters, editors and web developers based at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. JURIST is produced for the legal education of its readers and law student staffers, and uses the latest Internet technology to track important legal news and materials and present them rapidly, objectively and intelligibly in an accessible, ad-free format.

The JURIST Student Staff Association (JSSA) exists to provide recruitment, training, social events and support for members of the JURIST community. In addition to serving as a development tool for future JURIST staff members, JSSA seeks to enhance the education of all Pitt Law students by highlighting the nexus between law, current events, and journalism. Any student interested in law, legal news or journalism is welcome to join the JSSA.

JURIST is constantly growing and adapting. Recently, JURIST has added staff members in the UK and Eastern Europe, as well as from American law schools outside of the Pittsburgh area.

Recruitment
JURIST is always looking for talented, public-service oriented law students both from the University of Pittsburgh and from law schools around the world.

In particular, we're looking for good writers, skilled Net surfers and fluent English-speakers with a nose for news who can spare some time - weekdays, evenings and/or weekends - during the law school term to work online with members of our Pittsburgh-based law student staff who power JURIST's Paper Chase legal news weblog every day. Journalistic experience is helpful, but certainly not a prerequisite.

Report on the latest legal news in your geographical area, or in your own area of interest. Learn the latest law that matters, make friends across the country and around the world, and gain valuable career and computer skills, all at the same time. We are also seeking Pittsburgh-based law students with technical and web development skills.
